This movie is loosely based on the short story by Richard Bachman (aka Stephen King) and this is one of my favorites of all time. It is about Ben Richards (Arnold Scharzenegger) who is sent to prison for violating the order to fire upon helpless citizens. He along with some friends, manage to break out of the prison. He goes back to everyday life, or so he thinks. When he goes back to the house that he thinks is his, he finds it is occupied by another resident (Maria Conchita Alonzo) who turns him in. He is sent to a ruthless game show host (Richard Dawson) who orders him to participate in his game, Ben has no choice but to do so. His friends are also caught and they join him in the "warzone", as well as the woman who turned him in. She happens to work for the network but gets caught snooping around looking to expose the real story about Ben; he was framed for firing on the helpless citizens thus earning him the name: The Butcher of Bakersfield. All of them take on challenge after challenge when in the end....well you need to watch it for yourself. Rated R.
